Function to calculate NYSE Trading Day of Month. Hoping that someone could provide a function that given a date, it will return the NYSE trading day of month. If it takes into consideration holidays that is a bonus, if not I'm not too worried. I want the worksheet to look something like this: starting in column A row 4 the dates the stock market is open, column B row 4 the day of the week that's in column A row 4, the trading day of the month that coincides with column A row 4. Example; Column A Column B Column C (all are the same row (4)) The January effect helps predict how the market will tend to perform throughout the year. The January effect takes place from the last trading day in December through the fifth trading day in January. A stock can be below $1 and stay listed on the NYSE for less than 30 trading days. At that point, the company receives an initial price violation notice and must inform the NYSE of its plans to increase the stock price to avoid being suspended or delisted. Once you factor in these three half-day sessions, you lose an additional 9 hours of trading which is equivalent to 1.4 trading days. So, if you take the previous value of 252 trading days – 1.4 trading days you will have a total of 250.6 or ~ 251 trading days.
